Meyer Products Super-V3 Snow Plow

snow plow

The all-new Meyer® Super-V3™ snow plow from Meyer Products is made for ¾ ton and larger trucks and comes with a five year warranty. It is engineered with features designed to move more snow, faster and with more control. Users can choose from a V, scoop, or straight blade configuration with push-button ease thanks to a pistol grip controller and independently controlled wings.

The Super-V3 delivers industry-leading ground clearance; users do not have to worry about bottoming out and stacking capability is increased. In addition, Meyer’s exclusive Nite Saber® LED lights offer safer nighttime plowing with less draw on electrical systems.

The Super-V3 Plow features a pistol grip controller with self-diagnostics that reduces downtime and a Hands-Free Plowing (HFP) mode that lets users handle the shift lever to control the up/down movement of the blade. Dual-acting locking cylinders provide control, locking the blade position whether plowing forward or backward. Trip-edge moldboards absorb and dissipate the shock so users do not lose the entire load, or subject the truck, plow, and themselves to the full impact. Further, fleet friendly capability allows users to switch out theV3 snow plow with a Meyer straight blade.

snow plowThe Super-V3’s Standard Operating System has a streamlined appearance with an encased power unit and patented cable management system for reliable service. The hydraulic system also features an adjustable drop speed to handle various plowing conditions and meet operator preferences. Additionally, an exclusive upper-sealed center deflector keeps snow and ice off the windshield. On the bottom is an integrated urethane center cutting edge that eliminates snow trails left by ordinary V-plows.

Users can attach and detach the Super-V3 with a simple two-plug electrical attachment, and Meyer’s free-standing jack stand allows V3 height adjustment on uneven or shifting surfaces, making on/off easy in any condition.

All Meyer carbon steel moldboards are painted with Meyer Dura-Slick™ Paint. This automotive-style paint with Teflon® is baked on to the steel for durability and better snow-rolling action.

21.0 DR Wood Chipper Shredder

chipper shredder

The 21.0 self-feeding, electric start DR Wood Chipper Shredder (SKU: CS27050BEN) from DR Power Equipment is a complete yard and garden cleanup machine. It devours branches and shreds yard waste. Highway towing is standard so users can take it anywhere the work is.chipper shredderchipper shredder

The 21.0 Chipper Shredder’s shredding action is the result of 48 free-swinging hammers that reduce lighter materials 20:1, pulverizing leaves, sticks, and other yard and garden waste into a fine mulch that users can compost or till into soil. The shredder hopper opening is 20″x 18″, big enough to accept multiple stalks up to 1.5″ thick along with side branches and leaves. And its 9″ x 13″ side chipper chute will demolish branches up to 5″ in diameter.

chipper shredderThe 21.0 DR Wood Chipper Shredder Comes with a ball hitch and fenders so it’s road-ready at speeds of up to 45 miles per hour. It can also be used with an ATV, UTV, or riding mower for easy transport around properties. Big, pneumatic 16.5″ tires glide smoothly from job site to job site.

A large vertically oriented hopper, a precisely-angled heavy-duty chipping knife, and a powerful air channel work together to pull branches into the chipping hopper and blast wood chips out the discharge. Most materials will self-feed, so once a branch is dropped in the user can move on to get the next one.

The 21.0 DR Wood Chipper Shredder weighs 645 pounds and comes standard with road towing equipment: a ball hitch, tow bar, and fenders. Users can go wherever the work is, driving at speeds up to 45mph.

chipper shredderThe 21.0 foot pounds torque self-feeding chipper uses a durable Briggs & Stratton® 420cc Overhead Valve engine with electric-start. A debris management system protects the engine from whatever is kicked up while chipping and shredding.

Made of high-carbon/high-chromium forged alloy tool steel, the Pro-Spec™ Chipper Knife holds an edge longer. Still, as with any cutting tool, keeping a sharp edge is important for maintaining peak performance so keeping an extra on hand is recommended to minimize downtime. Chipper knife speed is 100 mph.

Honda Commercial Lawn Mower

commercial lawn mower

The Honda HRC216K3HDA commercial lawn mower from Honda Power Equipment is designed from the inside out for simple starting, easy operation, and quick stopping. It features a host of advanced technologies with durable, lightweight 9″ NeXite® wheels with precision-sealed ball bearings.

commercial lawn mower“This new Honda self-propelled commercial mower expands the popular Honda HRC product line from two models to three, offering more choices of premium, reliable Honda lawn mowers to the professional landscape market,” said Michael Rudolph, vice president, Honda Power Equipment Division. “With reduced weight for better maneuverability, rugged, durable construction, and lower upfront costs, the new Honda HRC216K3HDA commercial mower is a smart choice for lawn and landscape professionals.”

The Honda HRC216K3HDA allows the user to save time by starting the engine while standing behind the mower. The flywheel brake safety system stops the engine and blades when the user lets go of the brake lever on the handle.

The fuel efficient Honda GXV160 commercial engine is the source of powerful, quiet operation with noise control for operator comfort. At the same time, the precision speed control of the  engine saves time by maintaining consistent speed across all conditions. The mower’s self-propelled, hydrostatic transmission includes a heavy-duty automotive style shaft drive that eliminates the belt that can slip or wear out. It offers infinitely variable speed control from 2.1 mph to 4 mph so users can change and maintain the ground speed to match mowing conditions.

commercial lawn mowerThe exclusive Honda MicroCut® Twin Blade System offers four cutting surfaces to produce finer clippings. The mower can also be adjusted to eight different heights from 3/4″ to 4″ suitable to all types of grass and mowing conditions.

The outside of the Honda HRC216K3HDA features a rugged 21″ steel deck with front axle and bumper protection for additional structural stability and durability. Ergonomic heavy-duty steel piped reinforced handles offer strength. The dry weight of 117 pounds and operating weight of 121 pounds make the product easy to maneuver. The commercial rear bagger/mulcher measures 21″.

The Honda HRC216K3HDA is backed by the Honda one-year commercial warranty (one year for the frame, two years for the engine).

TurfMutt Education Program Marks 10th Year

environmental education

The TurfMutt environmental education and stewardship program celebrates its 10th anniversary of teaching the value and benefits of the outdoors, specifically the contributions of our own backyards, community parks, and other managed landscapes. This year, the program expands its successful youth education program to middle schools around the country, adding new lessons and student activities, including a graphic story as well as cash prizes to its annual contest.environmental education

“For the last decade, TurfMutt’s message has been simple: care for the green space around you, but equally important, get outside and enjoy it,” says Kris Kiser, President and CEO of the Outdoor Power Equipment Institute (OPEI), whose Foundation is the creative founder of TurfMutt. “Now we’re expanding to include more students and their families to further promote the health and wellness benefits of being an ‘outsider’.”

TurfMutt started as a pilot youth education program to schools in Sacramento in fall 2009, and has grown into a national program for kids, families, and communities. Today, TurfMutt is an official U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) Education Partner; as part of their global LEARNING LAB, TurfMutt has appeared on morning television shows, Lucky Dog and Ready Set Pet, and has been featured in Parade magazine. TurfMutt has reached more than 68 million teachers, students, and their families through its own outreach and via the materials created in collaboration with Scholastic.

This year, the Scholastic program expands to middle schools, starting with TurfMutt’s “The (Really) Great Outdoors Contest,” which encourages students in grades 6 to 8 to design by writing about or drawing a nature space that works for their lifestyle and community no matter where they live — city, country, suburb, house, or apartment. The contest offers four prizes ranging from $750 to $2,000 for students, as well as cash prizes for teachers ($125 to $750) and schools ($125 to $750).environmental education

To enter the contest, students will draw upon their environmental science knowledge, planning and problem-solving skills, as well as creativity, to compose a design and/or written description for a green/natural space suitable for their home, neighborhood, or community. The entry should depict how their idea would benefit both the environment and their community, while also motivating the entrant (and others) to get outside and enjoy nature. Entries are due April 24, 2019. Additional contest details are available at www.scholastic.com/turfmutt.

New lesson plans and a graphic story, both aimed at middle school youth, will explore TurfMutt’s adventures in “saving the planet one yard at a time,” and are designed to inspire students to improve the green spaces around them and help them prepare for the contest. An estimated eighteen thousand teachers will receive lessons plans and 460,000 students will receive the graphic story, which was included with Science World magazine.

“The graphic story is an innovative way to reach this age group with the TurfMutt message, and we are thrilled to see the expanded contest reach a new audience of students,” said Kiser. “We hope the prizes for students, teachers, and schools inspire them to continue their environmental exploration. Maybe they will use those prizes to design or refresh their own green spaces at home or at their school.”

TurfMutt is an education resource at the U.S. Department of Education’s Green Ribbon Schools, the U.S. Department of Energy, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Green Apple, the Center for Green Schools, the Outdoors Alliance for Kids, the National Energy Education Development (NEED) project, Climate Change Live, Petfinder, and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.

The program’s mascot is Lucky the TurfMutt, an animated version of a real-life rescue dog who is “pawing it forward” by inspiring students to care for the environment and appreciate its benefits.
